Three Arrested Over Raid on  Former Munyagwa’s home

Police report that three major suspects were apprehended as a result of the investigations; these individuals are also connected to several other robberies and attempted killings that occurred in Kyengera town council.

The three suspects have been named as Igga Meddy, Safari Allan, and Mansur Kwizera by KMP deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire.

According to Owoyesigire, the arrests had something to do with the December 29, 2023, alleged aggravated robbery and attempted murder occurrences involving Collins Musoke, Kenneth Ssebufu, Winnie Namutebi, Jim’s Kalanzi, Michael Emuroni, and Shafic Male.

“The suspects were also implicated in the raid at Honourable Mubarak Munyangwa’s residence in Kimbeja cell, where his security guard Mpaka Benjamin was injured on January 3, 2024, in Budo ward, Kyengera,” Luke added

The suspects in all the raids, according to the police, injured their victims and took valuables such a 65-inch TV, two million shillings in cash, ten phones, and a vandalized automobile with the license plate UBB 043A.

Investigations further discovered that the stolen phones, some holding mobile money, were tied to illicit activities.

“Telephone lines associated with the illicit transfer of money during the robbery incidents were also recovered and will serve as crucial exhibits for the prosecution of the suspects,” said Owoyesigyire
