By Francis Zaake, the MP for Mityana Municipality, has stated that there is a plot by some “regime officials” to kill him.
Zaake claimed to have information about the purported assassination plot from a whistleblower in a social media post on Thursday.
“I have received credible information from a whistleblower of a plot to assassinate me,” Zaake posted on his social media platforms.
The National Unity Platform (NUP) MP asserts that a powerful figure in the administration, whose identity he withheld, is masterminding the attempt to kill him.
“I am told that the plan is being hatched by regime officials led by the head of one of the organs of Government; a regime Minister; and a high-ranking security official,” Zaake claims.
The vocal opposition lawmaker claims he has now informed the appropriate authorities out of concern for his life.
“In case the worst happens, I have shared with relevant people details of the plot and identities of the individuals involved.”
