By Kampala International University (KIU) has issued a formal statement addressing recent anonymous social media allegations concerning a purported medical student threatening suicide. The University has expressed deep concern over the claims and has initiated an investigation into the matter.
The anonymous post, allegedly from a medical student, detailed grievances about the University’s administration, academic progression, and logistical arrangements. The message, directed to the student’s mother, highlighted frustrations with the perceived delays in education and the resulting stress.
In response, KIU Management has refuted the claims, stating that their investigation found no evidence of such an individual among their student body or the parents mentioned in the note. Despite this, the University remains committed to supporting the psychological and social needs of all students.

“The Management of KIU is deeply concerned by the anonymous suicide threat attributed to an alleged medical student. Our investigation has not identified any such author among our students or the addressed parents. Nonetheless, the University has established systems to address the psychological and mental health needs of our students,” said the University’s spokesperson.
