After testing positive for COVID-19 over the weekend, the First Lady was put in seclusion. But President Museveni affirmed that she was operational in a brief statement on X.
“Maama Janet has defeated the coronavirus. This morning, her samples were sent to Mbarara, and they were all negative. Thank you for your prayers. Two days ago, I checked again for Corona, and the results were negative, like they were on the 26th of December, 2023,” Museveni said in a message.
“The doctors are now saying that corona spreads more through touching yourself on the soft parts of the body (the eyes, the nose, the mouth, etc.) with infected hands than even through breathing. Is it true? Hon. Jane Aceng, please clarify to all,” he added.
Museveni praised the wife for fighting bravely and urged people to watch the door handles, tables, and armchairs that need to be sanitized, documents, and, “of course, the unnecessary hand shaking.”.
