Chameleon’s Health Situation Worsens

Renowned Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, was urgently hospitalized in the United States on February 18, 2025, after experiencing severe health complications. This development was confirmed by his close associate, Juliet Zawedde, who has been overseeing his medical care.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Zawedde expressed deep concern for Chameleone’s well-being, stating:

“My best friend isn’t feeling well today; he has been taken to the hospital. I pray for you, my dear friend Chameleone. I know you’re currently unwell. May the Lord grant you healing and restore your health and strength. Comfort you in your pain and give you the courage to face this challenge. May you know that you’re loved and supported during this time.”

Chameleone’s health issues have been ongoing. In December 2024, he was admitted to Nakasero Hospital in Uganda, where he spent 11 days receiving treatment before being discharged. Following his discharge, he traveled to the United States in January 2025 for specialized medical care, facilitated by both Zawedde and the Ugandan government. Reports indicate that President Yoweri Museveni’s administration assumed responsibility for Chameleone’s treatment abroad, ensuring he received the necessary medical attention.

The artist’s current hospitalization in the U.S. has raised concerns among fans and the entertainment community. While specific details about his condition remain undisclosed, sources suggest that Chameleone is scheduled to undergo a major pancreatic operation within the next 12 hours.

As the situation develops, supporters worldwide continue to send messages of hope and prayers for Chameleone’s swift recovery.
