Amolatar police have taken into custody a lady who used a panga to chop her husband’s head while he was carving Christmas meat. Milly Acen, a resident of Agwingiri Sub-County’s Abutataro hamlet in Alemere parish, has been identified as the suspect.
The physical altercation is said to have started because Acen was upset that her husband, Denis Obua, had purchased meat for a woman he was dating without remembering to purchase a portion for his official family. But the incident wasn’t reported to the police at first until an image of Ocen’s sliced head began making the rounds on social media, drawing the attention of the local LCI, who finally reported it.
The incident was confirmed by North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema, who also stated that Acen has been detained to assist with investigations. A panga was taken from the crime scene by the police, who displayed it as proof to the victim’s medical staff at Amai Community Hospital.
Okema cautioned the populace against resorting to violence in order to resolve issues that may be resolved amicably through other ways. But he pointed out that, save from a few isolated incidents like a fire at Ngetta Mission that claimed five million Shillings, two separate car accidents that claimed four lives each, and a murder, the Christmas celebration went off without a hitch.
