Three individuals have died in Kamwenge district at the hands of suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels. Isiah Kanyamahane Byarugaba, the Kamwenge Resident District Commissioner, claims that on Christmas Eve, the alleged rebels stormed Nyabitutsi hamlet in Businge parish, Kamwenge sub-county, and set fire to a house, resulting in the deaths of three persons.
Adriene Ngwabiiji,78, and her two unidentified grandchildren are among the deceased. Five cows and 10 goats were taken by the assailants.
Byarugaba clarified that to find the murderers, the locals have joined forces with the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, or UPDF.
Nearly a week has passed since ten people were slain by alleged ADF rebels in the Kibaale forest. When the victims were killed, they were keeping an eye on their crops to prevent monkeys from destroying them.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni said in his statement denouncing the incident that four assassins, thought to be the surviving members of the Njovu-Kamusu group of ten that had invaded Uganda from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, carried out the attack.
