While carrying the tent, its metallic frame accidentally touched an overhead high-voltage power line, electrocuting all four men instantly. Nyanzi was rushed to a nearby clinic but was pronounced dead on arrival. The three survivors, identified as Tanga Asuman (26) and Ntambi Abraham, sustained injuries and received immediate medical attention.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident, noting that the tent involved belonged to the area LC1 chairperson and had been stored near the dangerous power lines.

“No arrests have been made, but investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event,” Owoyesigyire said. He urged the public to exercise extreme caution when handling metallic structures near electrical infrastructure.
