According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala, the incident was reported on 16 November, when residents of Nakiragala Cell spotted a suspicious bundle along the Kasenge–Buddo Road and alerted authorities.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of a woman believed to be in her twenties, wrapped in bedsheets and enclosed in a tarpaulin.
Police have since identified the deceased as Sylvia Rachel, a resident of Ibanda District, who allegedly worked as a sex worker at a bar owned by a man known only as Mugisha, alias Mukiga.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Sylvia Rachel may have been killed following a confrontation with a client inside one of the rooms at the bar.
“Our findings indicate that the deceased could have had a conflict with her client in the room, causing her murder,” Kawala said.
Four suspects three women believed to be fellow sex workers and one local guard at the bar have been arrested in connection with the killing.
Police say efforts are underway to track down Mugisha, the bar owner, who is currently on the run.
Detectives from Nsangi Police Station are continuing with inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder.
More updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
