The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has announced an alternative application process for its ongoing nationwide recruitment drive following persistent technical issues with the online recruitment portal.
According to a press release issued by Major General Felix Kulayigye, the Director of Defence Public Information, the recruitment platform has suffered glitches that have hindered several applicants from successfully completing their applications online.

“To ensure that no eligible candidate is left out due to these system challenges, we have put in place an alternative arrangement,” the statement read.
Interested applicants are now required to submit their personal information including full names, National Identification Number (NIN), academic qualifications, date of birth, district, county, sub-county, parish, and village in an Excel format. The information must be sent via email to recruitment@updf.go.ug along with scanned copies of their National ID, passport photo, and academic documents.

The new submission deadline is 15 July 2025, giving candidates an additional opportunity to apply under the revised process.
The UPDF reassured the public that this move is intended to uphold fairness and inclusivity in the recruitment exercise, ensuring that all qualified Ugandans get a chance to serve their country despite the online system setbacks.
Recruitment into the UPDF is free of charge, and applicants are advised to follow official channels to avoid fraud.
