UNEB To Release UCE Results 2025 This Week

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is set to brief the Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Museveni, today in preparation for the official release of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.

According to sources within UNEB, the briefing will set the stage for the formal announcement of the UCE results on Friday, February 7th, at 11:00 AM at State House Nakasero. This marks the second set of national examination results to be released this year, following the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results in January.

The briefing will be attended by key UNEB officials, including Prof. Celestino Obua, UNEB Executive Director Dr. Dan Odongo, and other senior representatives. The Ministry of Education will also be represented by Hon. Monica Kaducu, State Minister for Primary Education, and Hon. John Chrysestom Muyingo, State Minister for Higher Education.

The release of the UCE results is highly anticipated by students, parents, and educators, as it will determine the academic progression of thousands of learners, particularly those advancing to Advanced Level (A-Level) education.

This year’s UCE examinations were historic, marking the first assessment under Uganda’s new lower secondary curriculum. To ensure a smooth transition, candidates sat for two separate examinations: one based on the new curriculum and another classified as the “transition examination.”

UNEB’s theme for the 2024 examinations, “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” underscores the board’s commitment to maintaining examination integrity while adapting to evolving educational reforms.

For further updates, stakeholders are encouraged to follow UNEB’s official communication channels
