The utility company announced the move under its new campaign dubbed “WETEREZeeeee – Normalize Your Connection”, aimed at curbing power theft and improving service reliability.
The normalization exercise, which started on July 23, 2025, is free of charge and will run daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM until the end of September.
“We are giving this opportunity as a grace period for customers to correct their connections without facing punitive measures,” said Jonan Kiiza, UEDCL’s Head of Corporate & Stakeholder Affairs.
Customers can normalize their supply by visiting www.uedcl.co.ug/weterezeeee, any UEDCL office, or calling toll-free numbers 0800203088, 0800285285, or 0800385385.
Kiiza warned that after the deadline, enforcement will begin, and illegal users risk legal action. “Take advantage of this window before the law catches up with you,” he said.
