By The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is set to announce the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination results today, Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The results will be officially unveiled by the Minister of Education and Sports, First Lady Janet Museveni, during a ceremony at State House Nakasero, beginning at 11:00 AM.
This year’s UCE examinations hold particular significance as they represent the first assessment conducted under the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC). A total of 379,748 candidates sat for the exams, with 369,601 being the first cohort under the new curriculum, while 10,147 undertook the transitional exam based on the previous curriculum.
Initially scheduled for release on February 7, the announcement was delayed due to adjustments in the Minister’s official commitments. Before the release, UNEB Chairman Prof. Celestino Obua and Executive Director Dan Odongo briefed the Minister on the examination outcomes during a meeting at State House.
The theme for the 2024 UNEB examinations, “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” highlights the board’s dedication to adapting assessment methods while upholding the integrity of the examination process.
