Two men have been charged and remanded to prison over a string of violent land-related offences in Bukasa, Wakiso District, where bona fide occupants were allegedly forcefully evicted and property worth millions destroyed.
Kamya Kyeyune Francis and Lwanyaga Daudi were on Thursday arraigned before the Wakiso Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of forcible land entry, malicious damage to property, eviction without a court order, destruction of crops, and theft.

According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), working jointly with CID and the ODPP, the pair joins three other suspects Ssejjombwe Ibrahim, Kyeyune Allan, and Musoke Joseph who were previously charged and remanded over the same case.
Prosecution alleges that between January and October 2025, the accused, together with others still on the run, mobilised a large group armed with pangas and sticks and violently invaded land in Block 314, Plot 846, Busiro, at Bukasa. The land belongs to Dr. Paul Biriibwa, who has been in lawful occupation for over 20 years and holds a title issued in 2001.
The attackers, claiming falsely to be bibanja holders, are said to have demolished workers’ houses, animal shelters for cattle, goats, and pigs, water tanks, a perimeter wall, solar systems, CCTV cameras, a 40-foot container, and plantations of coffee, bananas, and trees.
Investigators note that none of the suspects possessed documentation to support any legitimate claim to the land, nor had they ever occupied it. No court order was issued for the eviction.
The two newly charged suspects have been remanded until December 3, 2025, as investigations continue into others still at large.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to combating illegal evictions, which continue to plague parts of Wakiso and other fast-growing districts.
