The accused, Antonina Bwayo Nakibuuka and Nkali Kirumira Esau, appeared in court last evening following their arrest by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) in partnership with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
According to the prosecution, in June 2025, Nakibuuka fraudulently sold land located in Nalugala, Kitala, Wakiso District to Nkali Esau without letters of administration, granting authority over the estate. Nkali allegedly proceeded to unlawfully and forcefully occupy the property, despite knowing it legally belonged to the late Kyobe’s estate.
The court remanded both suspects to prison until August 23, 2025, pending further hearing.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on land fraud and illegal property occupation, warning individuals against engaging in such acts.
