Three Suspected Robbers Killed in Kyengera Security Operation

Three suspected criminals were shot dead on Monday morning during a joint security operation in Kaboja A, Kasenge Parish, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala, the operation was conducted at around 8:00am after security teams trailed the suspects from Kasenge, where they were allegedly following a businesswoman.

Kawala said the group was armed with knives, breaking implements, toy guns and other items believed to be used in violent robberies. Two suspects died instantly, while the third succumbed to injuries while being rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital.

During a search, security personnel recovered suspected forged documents, including a fake Uganda Police warrant card numbered 38468 bearing the name Byaruhanga Moses, listed as a Senior Traffic Sergeant. A National ID in the name Kachingwa Moses was also found.

The bodies of the three suspects were transported to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examinations.

Police say investigations into the group’s activities and possible accomplices are ongoing.
