The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), in collaboration with the Uganda Police Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), has arrested three individuals for attempting to defraud Pastor David Fredrick Isanga of Universal Apostles Fellowship Church of Righteousness in Jinja.
The suspects, identified as Kintu Aggrey alias Werage Kenneth, Isiko Moses alias Isabirye Moses, and Nuwagira Herman, posed as SH-ACU investigators and falsely claimed that Pastor Isanga was under investigation for dealing in fake US dollars. They demanded 20 million shillings to “close” the case.

Between September and October 2025, the fraudsters repeatedly summoned Pastor Isanga through a church elder, Dr. Micheal Kyakula, and his lawyer, Isabirye Derrick. The suspects staged meetings at Nommo Gallery in Nakasero, where they reiterated their demands. On October 7, they sent a forged summons requiring the pastor to appear at the SH-ACU offices in Kingdom Kampala Building for interrogation.
Alerted by ISO, SH-ACU advised Pastor Isanga to comply with the summons. When the suspects attempted to collect the money, they were arrested on the spot. Authorities recovered a forged summons from their belongings.
The Deputy Head of SH-ACU, Mr. Ochwo, thanked the pastor and his team for their vigilance, which prevented a potential loss of approximately 130 million shillings. He urged the public to remain cautious of fraudsters and report suspicious activities through SH-ACU’s toll-free line: 0800 202 500.
Pastor Isanga’s lawyer, Isabirye Derrick, praised SH-ACU’s swift action in apprehending the suspects. Investigations are ongoing, with charges expected for forgery, uttering false documents, and impersonation of public officials.
