Outspoken activist and academic Dr. Stellah Nyanzi has unleashed a scathing attack on the National Unity Platform (NUP) leadership, accusing the party of sidelining committed cadres and rewarding what she called “influence-brokers.”
In a strongly worded social media post, Nyanzi alleged that the party had once again rejected a steadfast freedom fighter in favor of weaker candidates. “They discarded you yet again and instead chose a dim-witted influence-broker. I lift both my middle fingers to them to say, ‘Faaka yuuu NUP!’” she wrote.

The former Makerere University researcher, known for her unflinching defiance, praised the resilience and commitment of those she says were unfairly overlooked in the allocation of parliamentary flag bearer positions.
“Darling, you are a freedom fighter, an organiser, a leader, an independent mind, a swift runner, and a warrior. Your value has not diminished because they rejected you again. Your dreams are still valid,” she declared, urging them not to abandon the liberation struggle.
Nyanzi also took a swipe at what she termed sycophancy within NUP, contrasting her blunt honesty with the loyalty of those she claimed were rewarded for merely flattering leaders.
Despite her fury at the party’s decisions, Nyanzi called on the sidelined aspirants to stay the course. “Do not dare give up now! Stand tall, mighty warrior, and continue your work at the frontline. La luta continua!” she concluded.
