Soldiers from the Special Forces Command (SFC) have raided and sealed off the National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters in Kamwokya, drawing condemnation from opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine announced the incident on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, saying:
“SFC soldiers have just raided and cordoned off our headquarters! Ugandans at home and abroad must rise up and protest against Museveni and his brutal son!”
The raid happened just before a planned NUP solidarity gathering, where party leaders were expected to speak out against political repression and the recent posts by the CDF confirming custody of Eddie Mutwe Bobi Wine’s head of security
Witnesses said soldiers arrived in trucks, blocked access to the offices, and stopped anyone from entering, including journalists and party officials.

Earlier Bobi Wine called for a solidarity gathering in support of Eddie Mutwe, allegedly detained and tortured by the son of President and CDF Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba. The event, was scheduled for 2:00 PM. The NUP leader described Mutwe’s ordeal as a reflection of the broader struggles faced by Ugandans fighting for justice and freedom.
