Police has reported that Seven police officers were injured after clashes erupted during campaign activities for the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate in Kawempe North and Kawempe South.
Police said the violence broke out shortly after a meeting between security officials, the Electoral Commission, and the candidate’s organizing team, where they had agreed on routes and campaign venues. Trouble reportedly began when crowds at the NUP headquarters hurled stones at security personnel an attack that was later repeated at Bwaise Roundabout and at the main campaign venue.

According to the statement, several security vehicles, including an ambulance, were damaged during the fracas.
Security personnel responded with public order management measures to disperse what police described as “rowdy crowds.” Seven suspects have since been arrested in connection with the incidents.
Police condemned the violence, warning that acts of hooliganism during the campaign period would be met with “firm action.”
The campaign trail continues as the presidential hopeful heads to Mukono tomorrow Tuesday 25th November.
