In Naggalama Town, police arrested 4 suspects accused of selling opium and marijuana, charging them with possession and frequenting places of smoking opium. Recovered exhibits included opium, knives, and marijuana.

At Katwe Police Division, 7 motorcycles were impounded and 25 suspects arrested during an operation targeting street gangs and organized crime groups.

In Nalya, a suspect identified as Kasita Matiya was arrested over a series of robberies and phone snatching incidents. Police recovered a panga, knives, and opium from his possession. He was later identified by victims and detained at Kira Police Division.

Meanwhile, in Kira Municipality, 18 suspects were arrested from Nsasa, Bulindo, Katuli, Kigambo, and Namugongo over possession of narcotic substances, with opium and marijuana recovered as exhibits.

Onyango said the operations are part of a broader effort to curb burglaries, robberies, and drug-related crimes within the metropolitan area.

“These arrests send a strong message that criminal elements have no place in our communities,” Onyango stated, adding that police will continue to conduct intelligence-driven operations to ensure public safety.
