The police said the recruitment is open to Ugandan citizens of good conduct with no criminal record, and applicants must be 18 years or older. A Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) certificate is the minimum academic requirement.
Applicants are expected to be physically fit, nationalistic, patriotic, and ready to work long hours, sometimes under challenging conditions. Those with a record of volunteer service with the Uganda Police Force will have an added advantage.
Candidates must also be registered voters in their respective recruitment areas and not serving officers in any of the country’s security forces. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful recruits will undergo a one-month basic security training before deployment.
Interested applicants are required to submit handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), accompanied by photocopies of academic documents, a National ID, one passport-size photo, and recommendation letters from their LCI, LCIII, and GISO.
Applications should be delivered to the nearest District or Divisional Police Headquarters no later than November 1, 2025. The UPF cautioned against impersonation and the use of forged documents, warning that offenders will be arrested and prosecuted.
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews on dates to be announced.
