By Security forces in Mbarara have intercepted National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, along with several of his supporters, as they traveled to Bwizibwera Town Council for a campaign rally.
The convoy was on its way to Kyagulanyi’s second rally in the city, following an earlier address at the Mbarara High School playground.
Among those detained is Olivia Lutaya, identified as one of the party’s footsoldiers. The authorities have not specified the total number of arrests or the grounds for detention.
