In a statement released on Sunday, the party’s Election Management Committee (EMC) clarified the requirements for submission of A-Level and equivalent academic qualifications, aiming to eliminate confusion and streamline the vetting process.

According to the clarification, members in possession of original Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) certificates are not required to certify them through UNEB. However, candidates must submit the original document alongside a duplicate when expressing interest in elective positions. The original will be returned immediately after verification.

“For those applying online, the Committee may invite you to present the original certificate during vetting,” said Chemutai Harriet, Chairperson of the Election Management Committee. She added that candidates who already submitted forms need not take any further steps unless contacted by the Committee.

For individuals who have lost or misplaced their original A-Level certificates, a certified copy from UNEB must be provided.

The statement also addressed foreign or non-equivalent academic qualifications, noting that such candidates must present a certificate of equivalence from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to validate their documents.

The clarification comes as the party prepares for its internal selection and vetting processes ahead of the 2026 general elections. The EMC emphasized the need for all aspirants to adhere to the outlined guidelines to ensure a smooth and transparent candidate nomination process.
