The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially launched its campaign slogan for the 2026 general elections: “Settle for the Best, Museveni is the Best.” The announcement was made by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Senior Presidential Advisor and head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), during a press briefing at the ONC headquarters in Kyambogo.

Namyalo emphasized that the new slogan encapsulates NRM’s commitment to continuity and progress under President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership. She highlighted the President’s role in transforming Uganda into a modern economy, citing achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
“We pleaded with our dear President not to abandon his divine mission of transforming Uganda,” Namyalo stated, lauding Museveni for fostering peace, stability, and development both domestically and in the broader East African region.
Namyalo took the opportunity to criticize the opposition, specifically targeting National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine. She accused him of misrepresenting Uganda’s progress and undermining government initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM), which she argues has helped lift millions out of poverty.
“The opposition continues to malign successful government initiatives for their own benefit,” she said. “Meanwhile, we are empowering Ugandans, especially the youth, to build businesses and support their families.”
Beyond the slogan, Namyalo has been instrumental in grassroots mobilization efforts. She recently launched a village-to-village campaign aimed at regaining NRM support at the grassroots level, particularly ahead of the upcoming Local Council One (LC1) and women’s council elections.

Additionally, Namyalo has been leading empowerment programs across the country. In Entebbe, she distributed tools and machinery such as motorcycles, grinders, sewing machines, and mowers to youth and women groups to foster entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
In preparation for the 2026 elections, Namyalo has also launched a vote protection initiative. This program involves mobilizing support and safeguarding votes for President Museveni, who is anticipated to be the NRM flagbearer. The initiative includes assembling a team of vote protectors to oversee the voting process at every polling station across Uganda.
