According to Todwong, the national delegates conference will be attended by a wide range of party representatives, including the party’s national chairperson, vice chairpersons for various regions, members of CEC and NEC, NRM Members of Parliament, NRM MPs in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), as well as NRM MP flag bearers.

Also expected are LCV chairpersons and city mayors, party branch executives from the diaspora, members of the historical leaders’ forum, and executive committees of various NRM special organs including the Women’s League, Youth League, Workers League, Elders League, PWDs League, Entrepreneurs League, and Veterans League.

Sub-county and municipal leaders, as well as up to 20 observers invited by the party national chairman, will also participate.

One of the major highlights of the conference will be the election of new CEC members. Additionally, the conference is expected to formally endorse President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the NRM’s presidential flag bearer for the 2026 elections and reaffirm him as the party’s national chairman.

This announcement signals the NRM’s final phase of internal mobilization and leadership consolidation ahead of what is expected to be a hotly contested national election cycle.
