According to Kampala Minister Hajjati Minsa Kabanda and re-elected NRM Kampala Chairman Salim Uhuru, the results are proof that the NRM is regaining ground from the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), which managed to secure only 10 villages.

Speaking shortly after his re-election, Salim Uhuru said the ruling party is now more determined than ever to reorganize and strengthen its grassroots structures in Kampala.

“We’ve had enough of intruders who pretend to organize Kampala and lie to the President,” he said. “In Kampala Central, I say enough is enough. We have our structures, and we shall empower them. We’ll take full responsibility for the success or failure of the party.”

Uhuru emphasized a renewed commitment to accountability and party loyalty in Kampala, calling on fellow party members to unite under the NRM banner to consolidate the gains.

“The sky is the limit. We are going to fly as the NRM party that’s for sure,” he added.

The Kampala Minister, Hajjati Kabanda, echoed Uhuru’s remarks, noting that the results are a clear sign that the opposition’s grip on the capital is weakening. She urged NRM leaders to build on the momentum by continuing to engage communities and deliver on service delivery.
