NEC FC Coach Mbalangu Sanctioned Over Post-Match Comments

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Disciplinary Panel has issued a two-match suspension sanction to NEC FC Head Coach, Mr. Hussein Mbalangu, following remarks he made during a post-match interview after his team clashes with Kitara FC on April 10, 2025.

According to a statement released by FUFA, Mr. Mbalangu was found to have breached Article 13 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code. While the specific nature of his comments was not detailed, FUFA noted that his conduct during the media engagement fell short of the professional standards expected of coaches in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The suspended sanction means Mbalangu will continue to coach NEC FC but risks serving the two-match ban if he repeats the same conduct.

In addition to the suspension, the coach has been fined UGX 1,000,000, which must be paid immediately. FUFA has also issued a stern warning regarding his future conduct.

NEC FC is yet to release an official response to the disciplinary ruling.
