Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi is among the first four candidates to pick nomination forms for the party’s presidential flagbearer ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
The FDC Electoral Commission confirmed that by close of Day One of the nomination exercise on Wednesday, four aspirants had picked forms. Alongside Mafabi, the other contenders are Mr. Matsiko Dan, Mr. Usaama Ssemogerere, and Mr. Malinga Gerald.

The nomination process, officially launched this week, marks the beginning of the internal race to determine who will lead the FDC into the upcoming national elections.
The party’s Electoral Commission reminded interested members that the window to collect nomination forms remains open until Friday, May 2, 2025. The schedule was adjusted to account for Labour Day on Thursday, May 1.

Candidates are expected to return their completed nomination forms on Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7.
The Commission further emphasized that the position remains open to all eligible party members, encouraging wide participation in what is expected to be a competitive and closely watched race within the opposition party.
