The President kicked off his tour in Kyankwanzi District, where he visited Patrick Matovu, a PDM beneficiary who has established a thriving local chicken poultry project. Museveni expressed satisfaction with Matovu’s success, noting that the initiative has not only improved Matovu’s household income but also inspired fellow PDM beneficiaries to follow suit.
“If all PDM beneficiaries adhere to the fund’s management guidelines and start repaying their loans by the second year, each parish could build a revolving fund of up to 800 million shillings,” the President stated, emphasizing the importance of accountability and proper use of the funds.
Addressing the persistent issue of corruption, Museveni urged the public to be alert and report any officials who misuse the funds. “I implore the “wananchi” to be vigilant and always report these thieves. We shall deal with those involved; their time is running out,” he warned.
From Kyankwanzi, Museveni proceeded to Busunju in Mityana District, where he toured a series of development projects spearheaded by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Kiyemba, the parish priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church. The projects included coffee farming, piggery, and dairy enterprises. The President commended the Catholic Church in Busunju for taking the lead in the government’s wealth-creation efforts.

“I salute Fr. Emmanuel Kiyemba, Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda, and all Ugandans who are embracing the message of economic transformation. They are showing leadership by example,” Museveni said.
The tour concluded with a visit to Christine Wineza in Mityana, another PDM beneficiary who has successfully transitioned from subsistence farming to a commercially viable poultry venture. The President noted that Christine’s determination and responsible use of PDM funds serve as a powerful testimony to what the initiative can achieve.
“Christine’s household has transformed. We shall support her further,” he said.
