Former Minister of State for Health and ruling party vice chairperson for Eastern Region, Captain Mike Mukula, has filed a private prosecution case against exiled Ugandan music promoter Suudiman Luwkago over allegations that he falsely accused him of poisoning the late Kenyan opposition figure, Raila Odinga.
According to a complaint lodged before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court by Okello Joshua, the case accuses Suudiman of defamation and publishing false information on TikTok, where he allegedly claimed that Mukula was hired by President Yoweri Museveni and General Muhoozi Kainerugaba to poison Odinga during a visit to Uganda.

Mukula contends that the accusations were maliciously fabricated with the intent to spread hatred between Ugandans and Kenyans and to tarnish the reputation of senior Ugandan leaders by falsely portraying them as killers.
“The forged content was created to incite outrage and malign the reputation of the President, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and Honourable Captain Mike Mukula,” part of the complaint reads.
The private prosecution cites Sections 179 and 180 of the Penal Code Act, which define libel and defamatory matter, arguing that Suudiman’s video was a deliberate act of defamation punishable under Ugandan law.
