CDF General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, President Museveni’s son and senior presidential advisor on special operations, has publicly confirmed custody of Eddie Mutwe, the head of security for opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine.
Eddy Mutwe was allegedly abducted four days ago in Kiwango village, Mukono District, by men dressed in Special Forces Command (SFC) uniforms. His whereabouts had remained unknown until Muhoozi posted on social media confirming the detention.

“He is in my basement. Learning Runyankore. You are next,” Muhoozi wrote in a tweet that has sparked outrage across the political spectrum. In follow-up posts, he said Mutwe was undergoing “training” and even claimed he salutes a photo of President Museveni every morning.
“I can’t release Eddie now. It would be unfair to me and him,” Muhoozi posted. “He is learning Runyankore and we are both training for Kabobi,” he added, referring to military-style drills.
The general also warned the National Unity Platform (NUP), stating, “We captured their military commander like a grasshopper. If they keep provoking us, we shall discipline them more.”

Bobi Wine and other opposition leaders have condemned the statements, calling them proof of illegal detention and political persecution. “This is a clear case of state-sponsored terror,” Bobi Wine said in responseS
So far, neither the police nor the Special Forces Command has issued an official statement regarding Mutwe’s arrest or legal status.
