Preliminary findings reveal that Mukwaya had been staying with his father and stepmother, Namakula Hafuswa, following the separation of his biological parents. On the day he disappeared, Kamada was allegedly sent by his stepmother to buy thread (locally known as lustic) from a nearby shop.
He was given UGX 1,000 and returned after spending UGX 500. When questioned about the missing balance, the boy reportedly went back to search for the remaining UGX 500 but never returned home.
Efforts by the family and local police to trace his whereabouts have so far yielded no results.
