Speaking after collecting the forms from the NRM Electoral Commission in Kampala, the long-serving Rujumbura County MP outlined his key motivations for seeking re-election, citing the need to complete ongoing development projects in health, education, water, electricity, and road infrastructure within his constituency.
“This will be my last term in Parliament,” Muhwezi declared. “But it is important that I complete the work we have started connecting every village in Rujumbura with electricity, clean water, and a reliable road network. That is my main goal.”
Muhwezi, who has represented Rujumbura in multiple parliaments, said his decision to contest again also aligns with his constitutional mandate as an MP to legislate, conduct oversight over government activities, and ensure that public services reach the grassroots.
