The Kiboga Police are holding one suspect, named Isma Kato, about the murder of an individual whose identity is still scanty who was allegedly having an extramarital affair with his wife.
At 8:00 am on November 1, 2024, in Bukomero’s Kakunyu D village, in the Kiboga district, an occurrence took place.
Racheal Kawala, the PRO of Wamala Police Region, states that the 20-year-old suspect is a resident of Nansana, Wakiso District, and is the son of Kazibwe Fred, a resident of Nakasengere village, Nakasozi S/county, Kiboga District.
Preliminary investigation indicates that on January 11, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Isma killed the victim instantly by strangling him with a goose rope and striking his skull with a stone. Suspicion of a relationship outside of marriage between the victim and Isma’s wife is thought to have been the driving force behind the murder.
A goose rope and the stone used in the murder were among the exhibits that the police found when they arrived at the location after getting the call. The deceased’s body has been dispatched to the mortuary at Kiboga Hospital for postmortem.
Isma Kato is currently in custody at Kiboga Central Police Station as efforts to ascertain the identity of the deceased individual are ongoing
According to the Police annual crime report, There were 1,095 cases of assault resulting in death, followed by aggravated domestic violence with 376 cases, and 373 strangulations. Additionally, a total of 321 people were shot dead during the year, and 759 people were killed through mob action.
