By Residents of Kamuli Municipality gathered in large numbers at the local police station to catch a glimpse of Susan Namuganza, 34, who was recently arrested for allegedly severing her husband’s genitals last month. Following a three-week manhunt, Namuganza was apprehended at her sister’s home in Bulange, Namutumba District. She was reportedly found washing clothes and confessed to her sister that she had been influenced by Satan.
The news of Namuganza’s arrival at Kamuli Central Police Station quickly spread, drawing crowds eager to see her. Many struggled to capture photos with their phones as Namuganza, dressed in a maroon dress and sporting unkempt hair, expressed remorse. “Anger and the devil caused all this,” she said, appealing for forgiveness before being escorted to the District Police Commander’s office for questioning.
Busoga North Police Spokesperson Michael Kasadha credited Namuganza’s arrest to public cooperation and the tracing of her phone calls. Namuganza faces charges of attempted murder and theft and will be produced in court soon.
