“I have heard your cries, and I am going to handle this matter personally. Within six weeks, we shall find a solution to the Kasokoso land dispute,” President Museveni said, drawing loud applause from the crowd.

He announced that Hon. Ssozi Galabuzi, the National Coordinator for the PDM, would be dispatched to assess and streamline Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs) in the area, with the aim of strengthening accountability and ensuring proper service delivery.

In a further show of support, the President committed UGX 30 million to the Kasokoso SACCO and pledged that every SACCO in Kira Municipality would receive UGX 100 million in government capitalisation support.

President Museveni emphasised the importance of proper SACCO management, calling on residents to actively monitor their operations to prevent corruption and ensure funds reach intended beneficiaries.

“Money must be managed with honesty. All of you leaders and members must follow up on these funds. This is your money to fight poverty,” he said.

He encouraged residents to support leaders who align with national development goals and are committed to uplifting communities through programmes such as the PDM.

The President’s visit is part of a nationwide mobilisation campaign to promote wealth creation, improve household incomes, and monitor the progress of government interventions at the grassroots.

Residents welcomed the President’s pledges with optimism, saying the land dispute has for years threatened their livelihoods and left many living in fear of eviction.

President Museveni’s latest engagements reflect a push to solidify the government’s pro-people agenda through practical support, especially in densely populated urban settlements grappling with poverty, land insecurity, and unemployment.
