“I take 12 painkillers every day. I’m dying… I feel I’m dying,” Mutwe told the courtroom, visibly in pain. “If they must cut off my arms, let it be done so that I can get some treatment. I’m dying from pain.”

This comes weeks after weeks of silence regarding Mutwe’s whereabouts, following his alleged abduction in late April.

The Chief of Defence Forces and son to President Museveni, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba,  publicly admitted to the abduction and torture of Eddie Mutwe, In an inflammatory post on X (formerly Twitter), General Kainerugaba declared, “I take FULL responsibility for the actions of my soldiers! Including the long overdue beating of Eddie Mutwe. That was an appetizer!”

According to earlier statements from Bobi Wine, Mutwe was subjected to electric shocks, beatings, and waterboarding during his captivity. “He was abducted by men in military uniform, tortured, and dumped in a deplorable state,” Kyagulanyi had said in a social media post last week, calling the detention an act of “state terrorism.”

In court, Mutwe confirmed those allegations, describing his captors as military personnel who blindfolded him and held him incommunicado for days. He said the pain inflicted on him had become unbearable and pleaded for urgent medical intervention.

The courtroom, filled with supporters and family members, was shaken by Mutwe’s emotional appeal. Several individuals were seen weeping as Eddie Mutwe struggled to stand.

Eddie Mutwe has been a key figure in Bobi Wine’s security team since 2018, often appearing at public rallies and campaign events.

The court is expected to make a ruling on a request for specialized medical attention for Mutwe later this week.
