Canada-based Uganda rapper Keko has vowed to return to Uganda and stage her maiden concert. This was while speaking to XFM show host Denzel Mwiyeretsi days ago about her time in Canada where she has lived for the last five years. She hinted that the concert might possibly be at the next Nyege Nyege.
“I would love to come back and have a concert. I am not sure if I will be able to dance and not break my bones. I have never had a concert but I would love to have one in Uganda. Who knows what the future holds, maybe the next Nyege Nyege,” she said.
The Channel O award winner also said she has not been following Ugandan female rappers well but is aware among others, Recho Rey has not rested from her end. However, the moment she touches down, her first act will be taking back her spot as the best female rapper to ever walk the Pearl of Africa, by picking the crown from their heads.
“I haven’t really been listening but I have heard Ninja C doing her thing, Stone Age, Recho Rey doing her thing plus many other people, Lady Slyke, MC Yalla and to pick one of them would be unfair but when I return, I am picking the crown back from all your heads. I am coming back,” she bellowed.
About the time she went on Instagram Live for hours months ago, she it was not a SOS message but a challenge with technology. That she had just moved into a new apartment with a great view in an area that is the equivalent of New York’s Time Square, so to celebrate she turned on her Instagram Live and failed to turn it off. Somebody called the Police on her and they deleted her Instagram page. Adding that it was not worth the alarm it raised here in Uganda.
It should be noted that in 2020 after about two years of inactivity, she received surprise AFRIMMA nomination in the Best Female Rap category but lost to Ghanaian rapper Eno Barony.
