By Police in Entebbe are investigating a horrific double murder in which an elderly couple, recently returned from retirement in the United States, was allegedly stabbed to death by their house help.
The deceased, Mutaaga David (69) and his wife Mutaaga Deborah Florence (62), were found dead on July 6, 2025, in their home in Lugonjo-Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District. The two had reportedly settled back into the country just months ago to enjoy their retirement.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police, the couple’s house help is the prime suspect in the fatal attack, which is believed to have taken place during a suspected robbery at the residence.
Police responded to a distress call made by another worker associated with the household, only to find both victims with multiple stab wounds. Their bodies were transported to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem examination, as forensic teams combed the home for evidence.
Several exhibits were recovered from the scene for analysis, and efforts are ongoing to trace the suspect, who reportedly fled after the attack.
“This was a calculated and brutal act. We strongly condemn this heinous murder and are doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrator,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of Kampala Metropolitan Police.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, promising regular updates as the investigation progresses. The motive, though suspected to be aggravated robbery, has not been officially confirmed.
