MAAIF confirmed that 301 PAPs from five villages in Buvuma—Bubembe, Bwaka, Buwanga, Mbekete and Ndayiga have already received full payment based on valuations conducted by the Government Chief Valuer. The ministry plans to compensate a total of 1,405 people across 11 villages.
Disclosure of compensation details to PAPs in Buvuma has been completed, and payments will be made in phases, in line with the President’s guidance. In Sango Bay, the Ministry of Lands is still carrying out disclosure, after which payments will commence.
Minister Kyakulaga said government remains committed to releasing the remaining funds to complete the compensation exercise. He expressed gratitude to local leaders, community members and other stakeholders who helped verify and identify the affected families.
MAAIF says the compensation process is being handled carefully to ensure transparency, fairness and accuracy.
