Bahinduka said the retreat will focus on strengthening public–private partnerships to position Uganda as a preferred tourism destination in Africa and globally.
“Tourism remains one of Uganda’s most promising sectors for economic growth, job creation, and international visibility. The private sector is a key driver in this journey, and through platforms such as the CEO Retreat, we can work collectively to ensure Uganda stands out as a top travel destination,” he noted.
The three-day retreat, running under the theme “Making Uganda a Preferred Tourism Destination,” will bring together more than 200 chief executives, policymakers, and industry leaders. Discussions will focus on boosting investments, improving infrastructure, digital innovation, and promoting Uganda’s natural and cultural attractions.
Bahinduka added that the retreat coincides with Uganda’s National Tourism Month, calling it “an ideal opportunity to showcase the country’s rich offerings and demonstrate our readiness to compete on the global stage.”
Presidential CEO Forum Chairperson Emmanuel Katongole said this year’s retreat will be a platform for transformative ideas: “By focusing on tourism, we are mobilising leadership, innovation, and investment towards a sector that holds the potential to redefine Uganda’s economic trajectory.”
