Police confirmed that the crash occurred at Busega Roundabout, leaving Baguma, who was traveling in a private vehicle, dead on the spot. His body was later taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
Baguma, a prominent opposition figure, previously served as FDC’s Deputy President in charge of Western Uganda between 2015 and 2018. He also contested for the Hoima Municipality parliamentary seat in the 2011 and 2016 general elections. In the 2021 elections, he again vied for the same seat but lost.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, with traffic police expected to release a detailed statement later today.
