Gen Kainerugaba underscored the need to maintain and expand the “excellent relationship” between the two countries, noting that sustained engagement was essential for addressing shared security concerns.

The CDF highlighted the transnational nature of regional conflicts and urged Belgium to scale up its support and collaboration with Uganda to confront these challenges more effectively.

Ambassador Chantry, who was accompanied by Belgium’s Defence Advisor to Uganda, Col Michel Recour, and other senior military and diplomatic officials, commended the strong relations between the two countries. He reaffirmed Belgium’s commitment to continue working closely with Uganda to ensure smooth and effective cooperation.

Both sides pledged to explore additional areas of partnership aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
