While officiating the opening session, Dr. Namutebi, who serves as the Director of Welfare, Production, and Sports, underscored the need for intentional interventions to support the mental well-being of officers. She noted that psychosocial health is a vital component of effective policing and directly impacts service delivery.

“This platform offers an opportunity to reflect, share experiences, and create practical strategies to support the emotional resilience of our personnel,” she said, encouraging participants to actively contribute to an action-oriented roadmap.

The sessions are being led by experts in psychosocial support, who are offering professional guidance on coping mechanisms, mental health awareness, and stress management tailored to the unique pressures of law enforcement.

The workshop comes at a time when the Uganda Police Force is increasingly prioritizing officer wellness and mental health as part of ongoing reforms to improve institutional effectiveness and public service.
