_Bobi Wine Calls on Ugandans to Join NUP’s Blood Donation Drive Amid Chronic Shortages_

Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), is calling on Ugandans to join a blood donation drive to address the severe blood shortages affecting hospitals across the country.

The initiative, proposed by NUP to the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services, aims to collect blood for the Uganda Blood Bank. With hospitals facing chronic blood shortages, putting patients’ lives at risk, this drive is a crucial step in alleviating the situation.

The blood donation event is scheduled to take place today, Thursday, December 19, at the NUP headquarters in Makerere-Kavule.

Bobi Wine has urged the public to participate in this noble cause, emphasizing the importance of community participation in supporting the country’s healthcare system.

“Recently, the @NUP_Ug wrote to Uganda Blood Transfusion Services offering to organize an event at which we can donate blood to the Uganda Blood Bank. With the chronic blood shortage in our hospitals, it is important that we contribute the little we can to alleviate this situation,” Kyagulanyi wrote on his X handle.
