Uganda Prisons Service has clarified the medical condition of Madaada Saudah (Prisoner No. LWPR 975/25), a supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP), following a health scare at court on 18 November 2025.
Madaada was admitted to Luzira Women’s Prison from Kawempe Chief Magistrate’s Court on 10 September 2025, with an existing medical condition identified during her on-entry medical examination.

On 1 November 2025, she fainted in the prison washroom. Fellow inmates assisted her and alerted the medical team, who took her to the sickbay. She was subsequently referred to Mulago Hospital in consultation with her personal doctor.
A medical assessment on 17 November 2025 indicated she was stable to attend court. However, her condition worsened while at court the following day, prompting evacuation for immediate medical attention. As of 19 November 2025, she is reported to be stable.
The Prisons Service said it will continue to update the court and the public on any developments regarding her health.
