By Police in the Kampala Metropolitan Area have arrested 38 people in coordinated operations targeting criminal hideouts in parts of Kampala and Mukono districts.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the operations were conducted in Goma Division in Mukono District and Kampala Central Division as part of efforts to dismantle criminal networks in known black spots.

In Goma Division, security teams carried out an operation in Bajjo and Seeta areas, leading to the arrest of 21 suspects. The suspects were allegedly found in hideouts linked to robberies and drug-related activities, particularly smoking opium. They are currently detained at Mukono Police Station pending prosecution.
A similar operation in Kampala Central targeted notorious crime spots along William Street, Kinamwandu Corridor, Nakasero, and Old Park, resulting in the arrest of 17 suspects accused of preying on traders and passengers. They are being held at Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala awaiting court action.
ASP Owoyesigyire said the operations are part of ongoing proactive measures by the police to enhance public safety and maintain security across all divisions under the Kampala Metropolitan Area.
“The Police will continue with such operations to disrupt criminal activities and ensure safety for all residents,” he stated.
