The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has directed all schools and examination centres to publicly display the 2025 candidate registers until October 10, 2025, to allow parents, candidates, and inspectors of schools to verify registration details.
According to UNEB Executive Director, Dan Odongo, the exercise is intended to prevent cases where candidates are discovered to be unregistered at the start of national examinations. The registers, which contain details of candidates’ biodata, must be displayed in conspicuous places at schools, examination centers, and district headquarters.

Parents and guardians have been urged to check the registers to confirm that learners have been duly registered. “This is important to avoid unfortunate scenarios where students are discovered unregistered at the start of the examination period,” Odongo said, adding that those with proof of payment but missing from registers should immediately report to schools or UNEB for remedial action.
To further ease verification, UNEB has introduced an SMS service. Candidates can confirm their registration status by typing Reg, leaving a space, then entering their Full Index Number, and sending the message to 6600.
Heads of centres and parents have also been reminded to verify critical details including the spelling and order of names, date of birth, gender, and subjects registered. Any discrepancies in biodata or photographs must be formally communicated to UNEB within the stipulated correction period. For PLE candidates, schools will fill in an amendment form through the portal, while UCE and UACE schools are required to write amendment request letters accompanied by national ID or birth certificate copies.
Odongo commended candidates, parents, teachers, and inspectors for their cooperation in the registration process and called on them to ensure the accuracy of the submitted data.
The verification period, which began on August 10, will run for two months until October 10, 2025.
