The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Party Electoral Commission has extended the deadline for picking and returning application and declaration of interest forms for both Parliamentary and Local Government positions.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the commission announced that the initial deadline of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, has been pushed to Friday, July 18, 2025, with the process closing at 5:00 p.m.

According to Hajji Mahmoud Kazimbiraine ,the Chairman of the Party Electoral Commission, the extension aims to accommodate aspirants who were unable to meet the earlier deadline due to time constraints or other challenges.
“This extension is to allow those who were caught up by time and other challenges to express interest in various elective positions,” the statement read.
The commission further clarified that Apac Municipality will be treated as a special case, following earlier communication on the matter.
UPC emphasized its commitment to a fair and inclusive internal electoral process as the party prepares for the upcoming General Elections.
